SHE LEFT ME HER NUMBER

She'd been "playing away"
when we romped in the hay,
a casual pick up
that ended in a tup.

She left me her number,
while I still did slumber
when on she had put back
her clothes, left me in sack.

How was I, green, to know
that her cheated fellow
might answer the same phone,
hear my "Are you alone?"

When I called that number....
It got me a plumber
who, raged, threatened my life.
"You been screwing my wife?"

I heard a background scream,
as if some nightmare dream
she'd been waking up to
was acted in her view.
