fury of the friendless
“Death takes in many people, but still lives alone.”
―Anthony Liccione
unless
i endeavour to be
fearless,
distress
is my only vacant
fortress.
blindness
is the sighted man's un-
kindness,
mindless
of the fate of his be-
hindness.
homeless,
i am wont to suffer
proneness,
congress
jeering at my state of
undress.
useless
that i sink into ob-
tuseness;
ruthless
is my hunger for as-
tuteness.
restless
is my spirit, limp and
zestless;
endless
is the fury of the
friendless.
