The Night Fate Kissed Destiny

GALLERY HOTEL AND CASINO
Las Vegas, Nevada

Fentin’s cell phone rang.

“Hold on baby, let me take this call.”

“Okay, I have to use the ladies room anyway. I will meet you in the entrance.”

Fentin lifted his cell phone from out the side pocket of his double-breasted Kenneth Cole navy blue suit. He flipped it open and placed it up to his ear.

“Fentin here.”

“I see you’ve made it.”

“Hey dad, how’s it going?”

“Fine, it seems the woman who accompanied you to Las Vegas has made a lasting impression on Clay.”

“Dad, she’s the bomb and, she’s a Forrester.”

“Forrester… Forrester.”

“Dad, her father is Coach Forrester.”

“As in box office football seats.”

“Yes that Forrester.”

“Don’t get too excited. Your old man, isn’t no chump in the financial arena either.”

“I know dad, but with Shaylynn, that’s her name, I’m really feeling her.”

“I thought you was taking your time in letting a female rush to the alter.”

“I won’t go without kicking and screaming, but with her, my screams may become moans of pleasure, and my kicking may become pumping.”

Both men laugh.

“Before you return to California. I expect to meet this young lady who has my son’s nose wide open.”

“Yes sir.”

“Take care, and be careful out there.”

“I will.”

“Do you need any of my men to watch your back?”

“No sir.”

“I’ll talk to you more when I see you son.”

“You got it dad.”

Both men disconnected the call.

Fentin placed his cell phone back inside his side pocket. He walked to the entrance of the hotel.

LIVOSKI’S HOTEL AND CASINO
Las Vegas, Nevada

“I would have taken you to one of my father’s hotel to try your hand at luck, but one of the house rules, never gamble where you lay your head.”

“I think that’s a fabulous rule.”

“Well beautiful woman, are you ready to try your hand at winning.”

“Definitely. Let’s try the slot machines first.”

“I thought you were an adventurous woman.”

“I can claim that handsome.”

“Then grab on my hand pretty lady, and let’s hit the spinning Roulette.”

Shaylynn linked her hand through Fentin’s arm. Both walked over to the Spinning Roulette table.  He established a stack of chips on the table. Shaylynn stood near him; she draped her arm around his lower back.

“Are you feeling on this man, to give me some luck?”

“Maybe a kiss will help also.”

Fentin leaned over and slowly kissed Shaylynn on her lips. He pulled her closer to him.

“What number, does the pretty lady suggest?”

Shaylynn leaned over and kissed Fentin on his lips.

“The number eight, black.”

Fentin placed three one-thousand chips on the number eight.

“Spin it.”

The Croupier spent the Roulette, the ball’s circular journey captured Fentin and Shaylynn’s attention. The Roulette slowed down. The ball fell into the number eight slot.

“Yes.”

Fentin leaned over and kissed Shaylynn on her lips.

“The patron wins.”

“Any other numbers, come to mind in that gorgeous head.”

Shaylynn leaned over and kissed Fentin on his lips.

“The number twenty six, black.”

Fentin slid his winnings on the number twenty-six.

“Spin it man.”

The Croupier looked at Shaylynn and then looked at Fentin. He spent the circular wheel.

The ball moved in a circular motion.

Fentin looked at Shaylynn.

“I love you.”

“I love….”

Everyone around the table screamed.

Fentin and Shaylynn looked at the Roulette wheel the ball landed on the number twenty six.”

“You are my good luck charm, Miss. Forrester.”

“Does this mean, I will be secretly rewarded.”

“With everything I have.”

“Then place everything on the number four, red.”

“You think.”

“Yes.”

“No kiss.”

“A kiss.”

Shaylynn leaned over and kissed Fentin on his lips.

Fentin placed everything on the number four.”

“Spin it bro.”

The Croupier spent the wheel. Everyone standing around the table watching, held his or her breath in anticipation.

The ball dropped in the cove of the number four.

“Yes.”

Fentin leaned over and kissed Shaylynn. Everyone standing around the table, clapped.

“Wow.” Fentin unbuttoned his suit jacket. “Baby, we’re on a roll.”

Shaylynn leaned over and kissed Fentin on the lips.

“Mr. Nice and Slow, what is the day of your birthday?”

“Twenty nine.”

“Kiss me Fentin.”

“With pleasure.”

Fentin kissed Shaylynn.

“Twenty-nine, black.”

He placed several chips on the number twenty-nine.

“Spin it.”

Fentin pulled Shaylynn to his hip.

He watched the Roulette wheel spin around-and-around.

“Where it stops nobody knows.”

The wheel came to a gradual stops, the white ball fell from off the track, and fell on the number twenty-nine.

“Shit…, we won.”

The table erupted in claps, and loud jeering.

MR. KINKAID LIVOSKI’S OFFICE
Founder and Proprietor

“Mr. Livoski...”

Someone pounded on the door.

Kincaid placed his ink pen back in the holder.

“Come in.”

The door opened.

A team of security officers and his personal assistant barged into his office.

Mr. Livoski stood.

“Am I to assume you gentlemen have something interesting for me?”

“Yes, Mr. Livoski, get a load of this.”

Geoffrey walked over to the security camera. He pressed a button to zoom the angle on the Roulette table.

“Is there anything particular I’m looking for?”

“Just wait sir.”

Kincaid walked over to the security screen.

“Come on gentlemen, I have no time to watch people gamble.”

“Give it a minute.”

Kincaid crossed his arms over his chest and kept his eyes on the security screen.

“Beautiful, we are ahead, what is the magical number.”

Shaylynn leaned over and kissed Fentin on his lips. She stepped back, and wiped the lipstick smudge from off his lips.

“Drop it on five, red.”

Fentin placed a tower of chips on the number five.

“Watch this Boss,” one of the security officers stated.

Everyone in Mr. Livoski’s office held their breath.

“The patron wins again,” one of his security officers stated.

Kincaid uncrossed his arms.

“Gentlemen, we have winners daily.”

“Mr. Livoski, that dame, have been right every spin.”

“That’s not unusual. How much is the house down?”

Each security officer looked at one another.

Geoffrey cleared his throat

“Dammit, how much is the house down!”

“Uhh... try seventy-two thousand. And the gentleman just won again, now seventy-three.”

“Zoom in on the woman’s hands.”

One of the security officers pressed in another button.

The camera angle zoomed in on Shaylynn’s hand.

“Can you zoom in on the female’s face?”

“Sure.”

He cropped the angle and zoomed the camera lens on Shaylynn’s face.

Kincaid palmed his chin.

“Damn, what a striking looking woman.”

“We agree,” everyone in the room openly confessed.

Kinkaid palmed his cheeks down. He looked at his employees.

“Do either one of these two look familiar to anyone in this office?”

“Not to me Mr. Livoski.”

“Me either,” the other security officer stated.

“I have never seen either one of them,” another security officer testified.

Kincaid walked back over to his desk. He lifted the telephone receiver from out the cradle and pressed in a button. He placed the receiver up to his ear.

“Baby, you are a Godsend, do you have any more numbers in you left.”

Shaylynn leaned over and kissed Fentin.

“Play eleven, black.”

Fentin moved all his chips on the number eleven.

The phone rang.

“Please hold all bets.”

The Croupier stepped back, turned around, and lifted a red receiver from out the cradle. He placed the receiver up to his ear.

“Close the table down, and hold the winners at the table.”

“Yes Mr. Livoski.”

The Croupier placed the telephone receiver back in the cradle, and turned around. He strolled back over to the table.

“Folks, this table is shut down, until further notice.”

“Ahhhh.”

Everyone standing around the table watching, walked away.

Fentin and Shaylynn looked back at the Croupier.

“What about my bet?”

“This table is closed.”

“Then I will take my winnings.”

Kincaid walked up to the two people who he assumed were trying to swindle his casino out of a bulk of money. His eyes found the leisure to scope Shaylynn’s legs from behind.

“I’ve been instructed to hold the winnings.”

“May, I ask by whom.”

“Yes, by me,” a deep voice intervened from behind.

Fentin and Shaylynn turned around. Shaylynn looked up and found a pair of velvety brown eyes assessing her.

The man’s height was at least 6-foot-5. His suit was tailored made, and fitted a brawny physique quite well. His skin-tone was a medium bronze hue. A deep set of espresso-brown colored eyes were an umbrella to stone-chiseled facial features. The man’s lips were gifted, and a good indicator on how he could use them.  A deep cleft in his chin pointed at his foreign heritage; however, in part to his darken pigmentation. She wondered what ethnic background he originated. A black band held back a fine mane of rich coal black hair, which was secured at the base of his neck.

Shaylynn looked down at the two-jeweled rings on the third finger of each hand. A solid gold Rolex, encased with tiny clusters of diamonds decorated around his wrist. She did not know she was smiling until the man smiled in return.

Kincaid was not in a hurry to turn away.

Fentin looked at Shaylynn, and then looked over at the man. He pulled Shaylynn to his side.

“Is there a problem?”

“No, Nevertheless, I would like to speak to you both upstairs.”

“For.”

Kincaid swung his eyes over in Shaylynn’s direction.

“I think you know why.”

Fentin moved in front of Shaylynn.

“No, I would like to hear your version.”

“I understand you want to flex your muscles in front of the beautiful lady, but be advised sir, my muscles, is a little more painful than yours.” Kincaid moved his suit jacket aside.

Fentin saw the two weapons stuffed inside the waistband of the other man’s pants.

“Okay, you’ve seen one weapon, you’ve seen them all. In addition, I would like to know why my woman and I have not already collected our winnings from off this table.”

“Those chips stay where they are at.”

Several patrons were starting to look over at the table.

“Let’s go.”

Fentin grabbed Shaylynn’s hand.

Both walked in front of Kincaid, and his men.

“Fentin do something,” Shaylynn whispered.

“Baby, just be cool.”

Eti dva moshennika. YA khochu, chtoby vy proverili vse mikroskopicheskiye elementy, osobenno na prekrasnoy dame,” Kincaid stated to one of his men.

Everyone laughed.

Kincaid pushed the elevator up button.

“We are not crooks, and you will not find any microscopic elements on my person.”

Kincaid, Geoffrey and his three Security Officers stopped laughing, and looked over at Shaylynn.

Ty govorish' po-russki?”

Da.”

“My apologies.”

The elevators doors opened.

Fentin and Shaylynn stepped on, followed by Kincaid, and his Security Force.

Fentin placed Shaylynn in front of him.

Kincaid looked over at Shaylynn.

Damn what a very attractive woman he thought.

“It’s going to be all right.”

Fentin pulled Shaylynn back against his chest.

“Good, you still owe me a little reward tonight.”

Shaylynn looked back at Kincaid. He winked at her. She turned back around quickly.

The elevators doors opened.

Fentin and Shaylynn stepped off.

Kincaid and his three security officers followed.

Kincaid stopped in front of a brown Mahogany door; he opened it.

“You will remain out here, you young lady come with me.”

“Bullshit, I go where she goes.”

“Mr…”

“It’s Mr. Windsor.”

“Windsor…” Kincaid repeated under his tongue.

“Yes, my father owns Windsor, and the Gallery Casino.”

“Such a pity you didn’t try and scam your father’s casino. You will remain out here, under the surveillance of security.”

“I’ll be all right, and back in a minute.”

Kincaid gently ushered Shaylynn inside his office and closed the door. He walked around his desk and took a seat.

“Would you like something to drink Miss…?”

“It’s Shaylynn.”

“I like it.”

“Thank you.”

“Now, would you like to tell me what type of scam you and your…,”

“My..., my significant other.”

“Yes, your significant other have conspired, and I would like to know, whose ideal was it to select my hotel and casino.”

“Mr….”

“You may call me Kincaid.”

“Kincaid, this is all a misunderstanding. My friend and I are not here to scam anyone; it’s only luck on his part.”

Kincaid stood. He walked around his desk, and went to stand in front of Shaylynn.

“Your assistance in winning him seventy-three thousand dollars, on the hope of a small ball landing on the exact number is, preposterous, farfetched, and I refuse to believe it.”

“I heard you state you wanted every microscopic element searched.” Shaylynn placed her purse down on Kinkaid’s desk and held her hands out. “Search me.”

Kincaid palmed his chin.

“If you find nothing, then we take our winnings, and leave.”

“If I find anything on you, then you can quietly return the money, and your friend leave my casino, and you stay as my guest.”

“All right.”

“Turn around.”

Shaylynn turned around.

Kincaid slowly ran his hands over Shaylynn’s skin.

“Your skin is very soft.”

Shaylynn pivoted.

“Thank you.”

Kincaid palmed Shaylynn’s sides, and roved his palms, over her back. He cupped her breasts, and caressed them. He thumbed her breast nipples.

“Those are natural.”

“Yes, and I like them,” Kincaid whispered in Shaylynn’s ear from behind. He rubbed his palm over her back and down to her derrière. He gently squeezed it. “Everything is legal so far. Turn around.”

Shaylynn turned around.

Kincaid leaned downward and smelled the side of Shaylynn’s neck.

“You smell very good.” He kissed her under her chin and then sloped his tongue over her earlobe.

Shaylynn’s body vibrated.

“Kincaid, my significant other is waiting for me.”

“Let him.”

Shaylynn inched back.

“Pardon me.”

“I have a proposition for you.”

Kincaid lifted one of Shaylynn’s curls. He twisted the strand around his finger.

“What is the proposition?”

“There is a high-stakes game tomorrow night at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino. I would appreciate if you could be my guest.”

“I am not a gambler, and I would only bore you with frank talk.”

“You can be my muse.”

“No thank you, all we want is our winnings.”

“What if I withhold the winnings?”

“I’m sure you are a very upstanding business man, who holds principles of integrity.”

“Yes I do.”

Kincaid pulled Shaylynn to him, dropped his face, and kissed her. He darted his tongue inside her mouth.

Oh, yes she thought
.

Shaylynn did not shy away, she leaned into his chest.

Kincaid drew his face back, but did not separate his presence. He looked down into Shaylynn’s eyes.

“I like what I see in you,” Kincaid confessed, before he recaptured her lips and amplified the kiss.

“Uum….”

Shaylynn moaned. Her arms crept around his neck; her body leaned in against his. Shaylynn withdrew her lips at a snail’s pace. She opened her eyes and slowly inched back.

Kincaid retained his hold around Shaylynn’s waist.

“I’m…, I’m sorry…, I did not…I’m here with someone.”

Shaylynn stepped back.

“It’s no crime to get caught up in the moment.” Kincaid traced over Shaylynn’s lips. “You are a unique looking woman. Your skin is beautiful, and it’s very soft. You look like the epitome of what a beautiful woman should appear as.” Kincaid ran his hand through Shaylynn’s hair. “Everything about you fits in order. The mirror of your eyes is highly seductive when I look at you. I wonder what they would appear as, when you beg for my touch on a king size bed of silk red sheets. I really do like what I see in you.”

Shaylynn could not find the appropriate words to express her gratitude for the compliment.

“Thank you.”

“I must ask, who taught you how to speak Russian?”

“I am a former student of Bolshoi.”

“As in ballet academy.”

“Yes,”

“How many years did you study dance there?”

“Every year from the age of five until the age of ten.”

“Did you school in Russia as well?”

“No, I was a summer student at Bolshoi only.”

“How is it that you are fluent?”

“My parents provided me a tutor, and my private interpreter. In addition, I studied the languages in college no one found fascinating.” Shaylynn wanted to reach out and trace her hands over such masculine features. “Maybe I was wrong after all.”

“What other languages do you speak?”

“Swahili.”

“Fascinating, how old are you.”

“Twenty.”

“You’re very young, but anxious in your quest to stand on your own two feet.”

“Kincaid, I find your compliment insulting to my intelligence. I am a mature capable woman, and I was never in the running to prove myself, or get anyone’s approval.”

Kincaid looked at Shaylynn.

“We will get along quite well.”

“I think this meeting is over.”

“We will cross paths again. Shaylynn.”

Kincaid grabbed Shaylynn by her hand and walked to the door. He opened it.

Fentin looked at Shaylynn.

“Edgar, you may give Miss. Forrester, and Mr. Windsor the winnings, and I take it, I would not see you two back in my casino.”

“No you won’t.”

Fentin grabbed Shaylynn’s hand.

One of the security officers walked the two to the elevators. Shaylynn looked back.

Kincaid’s eyes never left hers.

Shaylynn touched her lips.

Kincaid smiled.

The elevator doors open.

Fentin and Shaylynn stepped on.

The security officer was the last to step on.

“You believe the woman.”

“The woman does not leave your two sights until after that high-stakes game tomorrow tonight.”

“Mr. Livoski, she’s with her boyfriend.”

“I don’t give a fuck. I want Miss. Forrester at my side tomorrow night, any mistakes, and you two will be drawing unemployment.”

“Yes sir.”

Kincaid turned and entered his office. He closed the door.
