Flowers

On a meadow that I saw them
It was a sunny afternoon
Saw their beauty and was fallen
So unique like stars and moon
It were three of them exactly
And as I started caring for their parts
They smiled at me and grew
So quickly into my heart

The first of them is strong
And wonderful inside
Creative, lovely, smart
Not ignorant but wise
We laugh and sing and swim
Tell us secrets in the night
She’ll remain in my heart forever
A friend that’s always on my side

The second one is sick
But so strong that it struck me
Her heart and brains and body
are perfection, not a copy
Someone I’m just growing to
But yet mentally closer than I’ve ever been
Dear friend, I really love you
I hope our friendship will hold strong against every wind

The third one was special
Well not the third, she’d been there all the time
Some‘d say deformed, even worthless
I’d say most perfect, in my eyes
Her brave soul and body spoke to me
We connected on a level no one understands
I loved her dearly, deeply, heartily
I just had to smile when I saw her laugh
The third one, she used to be
A storm picked her quietly
My tears are lost from time to time
I missed out to say goodbye properly
On her place now is some greener gras
It grew, but couldn’t cover the wound
And every day that I am passing by
The gras is growing rather loose

I look at my flowers
And realize I’ve had so much luck
To meet all these characters
To greet them all with some love
And as I look to the stars
Another tear drops on the yard
So take care of your flowers
Take care of your heart

Author's Note
It’s been a while since I wrote my last poem - this one just felt necessary.
The flowers I’m talking about are three persons that have enriched my life on a basis that I‘m forever thankful for. And of course there are many more people I am grateful for.
But with this poem specifically I want to say thank you to all these great people that are going through a tough time themselves but still find the energy to be part of a deep friendship. And of course my sister, which will be a part of me forever.
To everyone reading this, I hope you’re doing well and life is at least ok. We‘re all going through tough times once in a while. But still, take care of your flowers. They might be the ones saving you.
