Lalinda, Jewel, and Great White Spirit

"I spent about two hours at Lalinda's house. She said Jewel helps her reach Great White Spirit."

"Great White Spirit?" That sounds like a generic ghost. Like a bargain brand. Like Price Chopper ascended master or something."

"I have no idea what Great White Spirit is, but she says she can reach it- or him...does GWS have a dick?, because she is powerful."

"Lalinda is saying she, herself is powerful?" Marshall crunches a Dorito. I know all of his late night chewing sounds.

"Yes. For some reason when I think of the idea of Lalinda being powerful I picture a mouse lifting barbells."

"Sounds about accurate. Wasn't Lalinda going to make one of her vegan specials for you tonight?"

"Yes, she did. It featured a boiled artichoke that looked like a decayed baseball. I couldn't stand being in her ugly, cramped apartment. The only decor she has is a picture of herself from when she was a dance major at some crappy college in Iowa. She's got her arms in a graceful ballerina pose above her head, but her knees are bent really far, like she's squatting down about to take a crap on stage."

"Woudn't surprise me. What school did she go to?"

"I don't know. Chuck's College. Whatever." After about an hour I felt like the walls were closing in on me and I was sick of hearing Jewel yodel about her period, or whatever Jewel warbles about"

That makes Marshall laugh. "But Jewel yodeling about her period is what summons Great White Spirit!"

Author's Note
One of many disconnected pieces I have about my friend 'Marshall'. I may weave them into a book one day. I like the idea of a plotless novel, where the reader puts pieces things together based on snippets of conversation like this. Not sure if that would go over.
Apologies to Jewel fans. Being snarky about Jewel just seemed to fit.
