One Too Many Typos

My nazi spellchecker
goosestepped onto the page
screaming for blood
to shine the highly polished jackboots
of her slave

It's been a long week
I whimpered
When you're my age
sometimes you forget how to spell

All those rules
Miss Shilling taught me in kindergarten
can get confused
what with all the other junk
kicking around in my brain
and some weird stuff
I'd rather not go over again

Yes, but the teacher's name
you recalled instantly
Every word knows it's place
and exactly how it must appear
The precise order is always required
especially for such an irregular language
like English
Deviation is not permitted

How could you think
you might know more than the dictionary
These words are your feelings on the page
and should not be rearranged
their wisdom speaks the truth
with every letter

You must do better
