Play Things
Hahaha, isn’t it just like you easing back into my life
We both know so much more than a friend and yet so far from a wife
You the essence of womanhood and knowing your power over me
With your ability to come and go at will shows your control over our destiny
To touch you and feel your softness would melt the hardest of men
After hearing your whispered truths and they will never lie again
Many have seen your horns, but I can only see the halo that you wear
So many knows the sounds of when a heart rips because you’re not there
I have regressed to former lives and opened portals to hidden plains
I’ve existed on different plains of existence from the mad to the sane
Am I clay that you simply mold as a sculptor at your will
A piece of onyx or black granite that you chisel at for your thrill
The softness of the sweetest of kisses sweetens the bitterest of hearts
I hunger for the briefest of reunions every time that we part
So many hours spent longing for moments of simply cuddling
Chasing each other atop the covers and then below them huddling
With you doing things to me that elevates my pleasures even more
Things that blind me to the fact that soon you will walk back out of the door
I can only live for the here and now, lost in your shadow
Hoping and praying that tomorrow never comes, and that the sun never shows
For tomorrow may bring me seeing your back, as again you’re leaving
Yes you have taught so many the sound of a lonely heart grieving
Again the loneliness is as if being buried alive, and again I refuse to love this way
But like so many other I’m like a toy on a shelf, until again you return to play
We both know so much more than a friend and yet so far from a wife
You the essence of womanhood and knowing your power over me
With your ability to come and go at will shows your control over our destiny
To touch you and feel your softness would melt the hardest of men
