Stating the Obvious
Nostalgia digs its claws into my fragile heart
I can still see suppressed memories beneath my closed eyes
I yearn for the future, but I’m chained to the past
My inner voices scream deafeningly.
-
Get up, don’t go back
God damn you; don’t you give up!
You have so much life left to live
You didn’t survive hell just to lose your way now.
-
Shut up! I can’t take it!
I’m sick and tired of what’s right and what’s left
The silent war doesn’t discriminate
We all bleed the same.
-
People turn their backs on me
They gas-light me into believing I’m at fault
I don’t need their bullshit
I’d rather be alone than in nasty company.
-
Come and reach me in the clouds
I don’t plan on coming back to Earth
You say that I’m living in my little world
Thanks for stating the obvious.
