Proceeded with all haste

Nasty surprise
A drug lord's nest
So the cop readily shot dead in the chest.

Actually, here in Montréal recently, two cops answered a domestic violence call during which one of the officers was shot dead.

Good subject. I like the poem but thought it could be longer with more details that bring the reader into the story behind the poem. Anyway, thats my two cents.
