I have this pin badge, which was merch from Fleassy Malay (one of my most favourite spoken word artists) that simply says the word “moist” on a metal pin badge. No other word strikes such fear into both the eyes of the reader and the memory of the wearer. The title of this reminded me of this, safely pinned to my bag.

Panted like a totem against evil is a nice touch to this. Both audible and phallic. Two birds, one stone.

In the spirit of honesty, I’d throw that semi-colon in the bin. As the only piece of punctuation in the whole piece, it feels like it hinders the flow of what is a beautiful thought. Just my own opinion of course.

Goodness you are ferocious, I loved the primal and spiritual layers within this poem, the impact of line breaks gifts the reader another dimension of aggression and carnal thinking when read aloud, the smell of musk and the bed shuddering in beautiful effigy in the closing lines gives a beautiful balance of masculinity and femininity which is a lovely round off to the poem.
