Joker of Hearts
At first I thought you were the one,
A love like in my dreams,
A whirlwind romance that was fun,
And everything it seems.
But soon I heard your condescending words,
Putting down my dreams and goals,
As if my world was absurd,
And only yours could control.
You dismiss my every request,
For attention and communication,
Leaving me feeling quite distressed,
In this one-sided situation.
You say I'm crazy for asking more,
For time and love and care,
But in truth, it's you that's a heartless bore,
A narcissist with a joker's flair.
I won't be fooled by your lies and games,
Or let you gut my soul apart,
For I deserve a love that's not in vain,
A love that's true from the heart.
A love like in my dreams,
A whirlwind romance that was fun,
And everything it seems.
But soon I heard your condescending words,
Putting down my dreams and goals,
As if my world was absurd,
And only yours could control.
You dismiss my every request,
For attention and communication,
Leaving me feeling quite distressed,
In this one-sided situation.
You say I'm crazy for asking more,
For time and love and care,
But in truth, it's you that's a heartless bore,
A narcissist with a joker's flair.
I won't be fooled by your lies and games,
Or let you gut my soul apart,
For I deserve a love that's not in vain,
A love that's true from the heart.
