Image for the poem Chateau Cognac

Chateau Cognac

From the tea house of Earl Gray
of my Chateau Cognac of awing
and small Benedictine sandwiches
on sesame crackers
touched by gravity and miracles

a canvas of dawn awakening
with dew over the chiffon
to the memories of silence
and then the kiss of cranberry
from her lips of Cointreau

drowning out the séance
embraced by the wings
with the balm of tea tongs
and the spiritual winds
of my Chateau Cognac of awing
