What Thinkest Thou, Dr. Freud?
Decade after decade
one persistent theme
does my dreams pervade
ever a restless vagabond
like gypsy, traveler,
or romantic hobo
driving, walking, running,
climbing, hiking
on endless, circuitous highways,
forested mountain trails
exploring vast castles, skyscrapers,
other familiar edifices
never stopping for gas, food, or lodging
never setting up camp
never dropping anchor
never pausing in a given room
bivouacking for nothing
being no species of psychotherapist
merely based on fanciful, amateur speculation
the dreams take root
In a favorite book from childhood
namely “Go Dog Go”
desperately searching for a companion
with a penchant for hats
who likes to party in the canopy of trees
Go Bob go!
