A Letter to Grampy
When you died time stood still.
It didn't seem real
The world became a frightening and strange place
Nothing was the same.
I was thrown into an abyss
lost from the world
Hiding.
So much pain bottled up inside
No one to reach out to
Everything seemed to darken, to lose its glimmer
as if you took the last of the light from this world with you.
I was so lost. So scared. So alone.
In the midst of my darkness I found you again
You were all around me
In the laughs, the smiles, and the tears of all your family.
This is what you left us- each other
A bond so strong and a love so deep that nothing can break it
You live on through us and remain a beacon of light for us.
Guiding us through the darkness and the storms
until we are home again.
Thank you.
