Point of View
I wonder why I fail so hard
down in the dirt more often than not
looking for answers
in all the wrong places/people
finding those who enrage my hatred
reshaping my mind
I know not everyone will agree
should look around
find more people like me
there’s those who will tear you down
they’ll try to take you out
fuel your anger and bring you pain
know your worth and walk away
I have such a beautiful partner
sometimes that feels like enough
other days looking towards the world
a friend to talk my problems with
life can get so lonely
even when I’m not alone
my mind plays tricks at times
telling me I’m way too lost
need to find the strength
see passed the facade
some people will hold you tight
they’ll show you love
douse the flames and build you high
just accept it and do the same
things can be better than I perceive
I see the smiles I put on people’s faces
friends who want to get closer to me
it’s hard to believe but I should try
I have a lover who changed my life
saw me at my best and my worst
never even thought to leave
life can get so dark
but I won't/can't be defeated

I enjoyed this piece DC, I love your italicized stanza. Bad ass that you have a ride or die.
Unfortunately I kicked my ride or die out going 125 mph exiting Shitville [fortunately perhapds, lol], now I'm cruisin' hoping to find that one person.
