The Mechanic 👩🏽‍🔧

You returned because your oil change is due and you wanna feel brand new so today I’ll be the best mechanic and crawl under you.

Your body needs a tune-up and I’m able to do just that and more, I’ll only need to give full assessment to know what to fine tune for sure.

Every model is different and yours is my favorite, from the oil type to the quality and blend.

Your manufacturers were kind to you so I’ll do the same first hand, to be sure I’ll check the guidelines because I wouldn’t want to pour the wrong oil and reduce the lubrication and overall shorten your engine’s lifespan.

Safety first, let’s put a rubber glove on, but caps off when I slide under the hood just to acknowledge the weight that’s printed where it should. Matching the requirements with supplies to make you run good.

Clean towel are handy and assessable incase there is an outpour, or would you prefer a shower curtain to protect our work station or garage floor?

Relax cool down so we don’t make a mess, 20 to 30 mins but nothing less. Just to stay warm enough for the oil to flow easily. Even though the warm oil feels good I can’t hold it all in my hands, that’s why I keep the correct drain pan to stay grease free.

I’ll need a sturdy grip to remove those stubborn oil filters from 3 jaw adjustable to clamp styles only to make it worth your wild.

Patience is necessary for us to not make common mistakes like not letting your new filter dry and putting it on wet, you may leak as a result of this leaving you with poor sealing and filters leaking. I wouldn’t want you to unthread so for that perfect seal, I’ll make sure to fill you half way and spread a tiny bit around the filter, deal?

I’m no novice like these other mechanics, I’ll get the oil in your engine and not on it. Even though I’d love to spread you open and watch it all go in, I’ll have to use a funnel angled right for those slow pours and spurts and gurgles to ruin our sport.

No if, or buts I’ll dispose of your used oil responsibly and properly, I’ll recycle if necessary at the different auto shops because the laws of the states are everyone’s responsibility.

This is the final step too bad it was so quick before you go let me just dip the stick, I want to see the nice yellow ring that tells me exactly what your oil level is. I’ll dip it, pull it out and put one of those clean towels to work then reinsert only to pull it out again to see the beautiful yellow ring and feel great about that artwork.

Now you’re ready for the road but remember after a few miles, I’m always available to do that dipstick check on the levels to avoid leaks during your ride.
