Using Controversy to Hide The War
“IT IS NOT possible to savingly understand the character of God if it is studied independently of the great controversy between Christ and Satan” F.W. Behold Your God
As a continuing critique of Fred Wright’s philosophy (chapter 4); this sounds too much to me like “if you don’t eat from the tree to learn good vs evil you will never get the character of God.”
By beholding, we become changed, so why would we study a controversy, spending so much of our energy on understanding things which are nothing about God’s character? You learn to spot a phony by spending all your time studying the authentic, not the fake.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above. By loving and serving the innocent and the needy we become familiar with the Father’s face. To accept a child and see them as they are is to behold your God in all His fullness, for they were formed in His image, from His love for us.
