friendship
honesty blushes within her sacred heart
to be so tender in the light
it hurts this gentleness of being
I shy away from others
fair of disposition I shine bright
it dazzles the eyes and overwhelms
my enthusiasm is too much
I seek like minded people
but it seems I'm much different
my differences set me at odds
I can't help but notice I stick out
an awfuling of hurt
I comfort myself
this isn't my first day of rejection
it won't be my last, I tell myself
resting in the garden I find peace
it's the voice of my creator tending weeds
I was planted in hope
that I would bloom in time
friendships will come
they are divine
