Socrates

I seek you in the dark where you are clothed in shadows
speaking to my heart in parables,
metaphors of the mind

I soak in the energy of space and time
in an infinite loop are you and I
I receive your wisdom my soul to bear
solace is found in your succor
I am fed from your bosom

I ache in the understanding
I thirst to know more
I drown in the world
smothered by what is fake
I come to you to breathe into me what is real
exhaling visions and giving me dreams

I am led onward
into the unknown I travel
I am different, weird and strange
but I am grateful to not be alone
I travel knowing you're watching over me
I can't fathom any other way

I've walked these roads by myself
I was inconsolable
