Steel toe boots,
sopping wet,
cold porch,
find the spare soles in 60 seconds, flat, put
on boots, lace
over pants,
double knot, in this year of
naught,
remember: Write poem, because, Imma poet, that’s what I do.

getting outdoors, into the snow, into the know, because:
I am.
I know.
