You're here beside me
Singing to my soul
You're holding my hand
As I continue the path without you
You're here within me
Telling me to live, to smile
You tell me to feel
To love and not hold back
You're there wherever I may wander
As I like to do
And, again, I hear you say
I am never lost, you are in my heart
You're here right now
As I cry and try to write to you
You're telling me to be proud
As you are of me
You're everywhere now
My sun, my moon, my rain
You're my echo
To carry on your song
I love you
I miss you

I am so sorry. This is a heartfelt piece. Your heartache clearly expressed. I lost my mother as well and following quote from Elizabeth Kubler-Ross some how brings me comfort.
“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not get over the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same. Nor should you want to.”

Thank you for sharing that quote. I have actually been trying to remember the name of her book, On Death and Dying. Thank you for reminded me. Grief has most certainly changed my life, over and over. Looking back at it all though, it turns out the change was always for the better, and for a better version of myself. It's very...odd, to say the least, how that works.
