Disturbance Revisited
On the tenth day of walking towards her final Destination
A most populal pilgrimage site.
On this day she walked twenty kilometers
Crossing a wooded area.
Rather desolate except for the mansion coming up on her left.
It was getting dark and Andrea was hoping for a bed for the night,
There was no light showing, perhaps the people were already asleep.
But then, no car in the driveway either.
Still, she approached, dared to ring the bell, followed by a cavernous sound.
Seemingly nobody around. It was getting cold, and there were dark clouds in the distance.
She went to the back, found an unlocked trap door, went in.
Guiding herself with her flashlight she found the stairs, went up
Ended up in a huge kitchen.
She did not have in mind to explore the residence yet soon found herself
In a specious library with a huge oak table in the middle, Queen Anne chairs in The Corners and candelabras at each end of the table.
She proceeded to take matches from her emergency pack and lit them up.
She found herself surrounded by hundreds of leatherbound books
Curiosity helping, she glanced at a few. Works in Greek, Latin and other languages.
A few titles in English having to do with the history of Haunted Houses in New England.
As she did not believe in Ghosts she thought it would be good entertainment
For the night.
She glanced and perused, noted that one chapter talked about and Exorcism on
Merritt Street in 1922. There was only one Mansion on Merritt and she was in it.
That just could not be. The coincidence would be too freaky.
But then, so what,1922. Ridiculous. Exorcisms had to do with some silly christian beliefs.
Still, she was hooked. She just had to explore.
