It's going to be a great year!

Peacock has a lot of great stuff on it. I don't have it but I'm seriously thinking about it. My parents have it so I watch it when I go over occasionally.

I love that song too. LOL

Was driving to work on my daily commute and the song came
on. I hadn't heard it in a while and the opening stanza came to me.
Went from there. Love the idea of metal sharks like airplanes and people. We have a few WWII airplane models in our store with sharks for nose art.

Was thinking about getting one for a friend of mine for Christmas but he would have had a cow so I backed out. Super cool though. hahaha

I did have that wistful feeling when writing. I was in a rush when posting cause I had to leave but I wanted to post before the New Year.

Me thinks that your friend would have liked a model airplane!  I get one every once in awhile. And it has to be a WW2 one.  Those were so cool!

Feeling very literal tonight. Envisioned a flying metal shark in my mind, just kind of floating around the sky. He was a happy metal shark and I found some solace for myself as I read this. I was lying on its back writing poetry as it flew in the air.
It even moved like it was swimming instead of flying. hahaha

The song is an older one but it's timeless in my opinion.

Something about the tone of the song and her voice
just takes me places. Was fun writing - envisioning me writing
on the back of a metal shark. Feeling the air surrounding me up high in the dark. Was pretty cool!!!
Had to write it down before I lost it. LOL

The first stanza makes me think flights to the UK prior to moving there.
They were always at night, and I was little so sitting in the belly of these massive flying sharks was just amazing.
I could never sleep even for a minute. I just wanted to take it all in. Soaring through the air.
And somehow he always lands on his feet so many hours later. And I wonder...
If we fell out of the sky into the Atlantic below, how cold it would be...
How many sharks would feed on us if we managed to get out of the plane.
Perhaps a bit morbid to imagine being shark food. But it was a little scary when...
there is nothing below you but ocean, salt ready to preserve your soul in the  cold and darkness.
To think that there was a time where people had to cross those scary depths for weeks,
to discover a new world. One that is so familiar and mediocre now.
Wanting to explore other worlds overseas now. This definitely reminds me of the night,
of traveling, and this desire to explore the world.
I love how you captured this desire and need to write in this as well.
It's always so lovely to see you Adelphina and the lovely thought provoking imagery you convey.
And a beautiful smile to go with it as well.

I've never flown! We always drove where we needed to go.
But there are some places that need a plane. Like the UK.
You've had such an adventurous life. I admire that about you.
I always fall asleep in cars if the travel is long. On an airplane
I'd be excited too. No sleep and I would be a pain in the ass to all the flight attendants. hahaha

Now falling into the ocean is scary. You brought a vision of Titanic
into this comment!

I do love the show Vikings or any Viking movie in all honestly.
They were so fearless back then.
I have a buddy at work who did the whole Ancestry DNA thing and he came back with Viking origins.
If you were to see him you'd get it.
He's husky with a white beard!!
No joke.

Wow, never flown... we have to get you on a plane girl. ;) Actually I like flying but I am weird. Perhaps it's because I was on so many flights early on in my life. The whole experience, the airport, the plane, the flight. All the chaos... lol It's an experience. Don't like going through security all that much though. I used to kind of zone out in cars.

Yes I thought of Titanic too. Oh the dark freezing water and wondering what is below, certain death. :p

I know some of my ancestry but it would be interesting to do the DNA thing. Never done that. Who knows what surprised you might find. The breakthroughs with DNA are incredible. Vikings are so interesting... so determined and definitely crossed the Atlanta.
