Predator and Prey
sharp ice crystals cutting
paws bleeding
dyeing white with red
panting breath freezing
following a scent left behind
chasing elusive prey
cornered with no way out
calm eyes welcoming death
yet speaking softly
you say "I love you"
and I fall
enthralled
collapsing to knees
howling my agony
from cupid's mortal wound
as predator
becomes the prey

LOL, A cautionary poem, be careful what you wish for. Some men [most men?] promise all as they chase until the day we are trapped in our own snares.

Ah yes! the ice crystals are so beautiful as they cut deeper.
And bleeding only marks the beginning of this hunt for passion.
That scent comes early on attracting all manner of predator.
While cornered, the wolf is so attracted to the prey. But...
The prey with calm accepting eyes can still enthrall him so.
Making him feel things that he could not have anticipated...
As cupid's arrows strikes the heart, it can never be removed.
Sometimes the predator does become the prey. Mortally wounded.
Love and passion, prey and predator, which is stronger...
You never know what you are missing if you don't take the risk.
Or maybe you think you are the risk, until... ;)

To entice with innocence, to seduce with shyness, to enthrall with guileless eyes. These attributes have conquered kingdoms, but you don't want power but souls. Too late the lust maddened bull realized can never escape as he bellows in pleasure and pain.
