Excellent. Love it, Regards, Robert. PS: Ari Melber on his show pointed out how recently in Germany police went to arrest tons of extremists. They did not wait forever in blah blah blah to finally send a report to the DOJ.....which may or may not indict Trump. A risky proposition in that Trump still has tons of extremist followers. Blimey. From tremulous memory, only second time cricket has been referenced in here! It's very rarely sunny in Birmingham, but spent many a drunken hour in the Hollies Stand. Sardonic and refreshing write.

The cricket is there purely out of whimsy seeing as how this piece is supposed to be set in a British winter.

That would be much to hope for and some people's idea of a double New Year present. Loved the jokey verse about Trump. As to Putin, I recall it was on a New Year's Eve in 1999 that Boris Yeltsin announced his resignation as Russia's president, paving the way for Putin....It would be poetic justice if his reign came to its end on that day of a year.
