Image for the poem desolate

desolate

desolate touch free me
insolent heart behave
lust not what you can not have
needful day give up on him

my soul rises within me saying...never
I will not relent
my eyes shine with tears that mirror his own
I feel it in my marrow

hurt has had its way
seeker of truth, diviner of hope
I am in love I did not choose it
no, the soul felt drawn and I follow

desirous of affection
is not the cold of steel fascination enough?
masculinity that won't bend your craving
but that I was willing to submit
I would die happy in your company

damnation, it is a sin to covet
that which is not yours to keep
