My turn

when is it my turn?
is it a selfish thing
to think about yourself
when the focus belongs to others

maybe, but who doesn't?
we're all guilty
however hard we work
to hide it behind thoughts and prayers

will it be soon?
it's so easy to ignore
basking in the warm sunlight
until someone else takes their go

do I have to take my turn?
there's so much to do
maybe no one will notice
if I sit this one out

is that what they thought?
it's irrelevant now
the game waits for no one
better get everything done then
