Solivagant on Glass Streets

Ballerinas of broken bottles
Berth bandage to tiny feet,
Snowfall now would break ankles

From catacombs, roots relevé
Towards smashed bulbs
Nesting in sky eaves

Twilight anoints pavement mirrors,
On nights like this
Reflective minds become an igloo,
Intuitive as ice-picked skin

Dying poets lodge on meadow mantle(piece)
Ceramic children wave from a hospital window,
All that is loved and lost become stalagmite limbs

Frosted frieze envelops street lights
Torch memories onto brick cinema,
Freezing fog weeps mercy along glassed gutters

Satellites pupilate eye-debris
Synesthetes taste distance betwixt sleeping lovers,
Vision is reduced to braille and breath

Winter at the elbow,
Wolverhampton wind teases the balance
Tilts monograph of ice towards epitaph

Fading, the light

Kerbside
Hillside
Waterside
Beside ruins of destination maps

Walking through empty rooms
Flawboards creak shame,
The dawn will shatter as
Chandeliers flung from high towers

Light, the faded
