A Million Pieces

A Million Pieces
Take forever to put back together
They have you searching
The world over for those pieces
That were blown away by the wind

You grab the pieces you can
Yet they slip away like sand
Slipping through your fingers

You need these pieces though
Because without them you're just hollow

So you go out into the world
Searching for the pieces of your heart
Whilst many step on fragments
Without even batting an eye

Scouring the world over
Only to be left cold
Taking the piece you can hold
And having to start over

Will this heart ever grow back
Or are you destined to live in a tragedy?
