The Usual

I find myself lying here looking in your face
And i'm trying to remember how we took shape
When we were kids did I have a pick at you
Or did we meet as adults and knew that we were true

Somewhere along the lines
I've gotten use to our design
From not expecting, we know the time
To almost reading each other's mind

Taking the time to listen to you snore
Seems as soothing as raindrops or flakes of snow
These things may seem simple to some
But I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas to come

Watching you wrinkle your nose
Seems you want to laugh, but your mouth is close
It's like a new day when your smile shows
You're having a nice dream I suppose

Maybe of everybody looking up above
At you and me declaring our love
In fields of blue or on cloud covered rugs
Maybe I'm running behind you, just for a hug

Vowing to never take you for granted
Knowing that you'll never leave me stranded
I offer you all that I have or will ever get
Branded upon my heart is the day we me

You understand what I'm saying
You know that I'll be staying
Because although there's still a game
You realize that you feel the same

But now the game has changed and the rules too
The name of the game is now "Me And You'
The rules are only a few
Do whatever it takes to keep you

Feeling deprived of the chance
To have given you the first glance
To have asked you for the first dance
Or for us to had explored our first romance

But some obstacles are easily overcame
Because nothing with you is ever the same
Each time I look, you're more beautiful
And each time I dance with you, my heart feels a pull

Maybe it all started like a seed
A tingle, a want, and finally a need
Having you is something that has to be
And I know this is the way that you feel for me
