Dark Light
Where was I
A child of light now living in darkness
In the world but not of the world
When in the beginning He compassed the face of the depths
There, then, were four faces
Four, a foundation or Daleth, a portal
Four points which bore the circle
The Torah, face over the deep
Throne of God, face over the waters
The patriarchs, the face over Rakia
The temple, face over the earth
Ah, the depths - bi'ur
Of the well - be'er
Of Miriam
Levels and layers
Line upon line
I seek in the darkness
For clouds and darkness are round about him
Pavilions of darkness round about him
Dark waters
And thick clouds of the skies
He knows the place of the stones of darkness
As I draw forth from the dark light at the well of Miriam
The well of Miriam created of God in the twilight
Between the first and second day
The two faces of the sea
As a sea like glass before His throne
And as a sea which borders his footstool
Mem, m a triangle in archaic Aramaic
Mem and mem for depths and waters
Mem and mem for Miriam
Triangle and triangle overlaid
The hexagon centered, the Magen Miriam
Shield within star
Darkness shall not overcome me
For what is "In the beginning"
Bereshit or Bat Reshit
"First daughter"
Wisdom shall have her way
So let there be light
A child of light now living in darkness
In the world but not of the world
When in the beginning He compassed the face of the depths
There, then, were four faces
Four, a foundation or Daleth, a portal
