Giving Back Your Gift
All I seemed to want,
Was the chance to get back at you.
Throw it in your face,
What's been dumped on me.
The pain and tears,
Ripped throughout my years-
Whats left unsaid,
Things un-kept,
Forgotten and distressed.
Father I love you,
Father how I want you,
But Father, left me wanting,
desperately- to throw my gifts back.
Canceled out, forget,
Pretend you don't exist.
Never to suspect-
This troubling pain,
Exploding in my chest.
Why is it your presents hurt?
And when I throw it back-
It feels as if I've still been burnt.
Was the chance to get back at you.
Throw it in your face,
What's been dumped on me.
The pain and tears,
Ripped throughout my years-
Whats left unsaid,
Things un-kept,
Forgotten and distressed.
Father I love you,
Father how I want you,
But Father, left me wanting,
desperately- to throw my gifts back.
Canceled out, forget,
Pretend you don't exist.
Never to suspect-
This troubling pain,
Exploding in my chest.
Why is it your presents hurt?
And when I throw it back-
It feels as if I've still been burnt.
