The Deceit

Isn't it funny how Funny lies
I swore that I wouldn't shed a tear when you said good-bye
Now I'm facing hell as I descend into my sky
The tears becoming steam while escaping my eyes

Who else but a foolish man would walk around with his head in the clouds
Only a servant of darkness would be so proud
To deny the gift that you brought into my life
To refuse to acknowledge that without you there is no life

I am condemn to walk the deserts of hell and live off of the ash
A fitting punishment for questions not answered although they were asked
There goes Funny again rearing it's ugly head, taking part in my fate
The heart that you once so easily carried is now nothing but dead weight

Sentenced to a punishment like Sisyphus to trudge this desert and bear this weight
Continually trudging towards the end only to find that there is no date
No time, no set rhyme or reason, the end is the beginning
There is only one season, so loosing is the only option, there is no winning

While performing a task that is worst than any death
There is time to think as my time now is measured step by step
Things that Funny hid, the lying trickster that he is
I allowed him to shield my eyes, not seeing that you were the one keeping me from this

The good decisions that I made, were made great by you
All of those beautiful dreams that I dreamt, when I awoke you made come true
Did you love me with all your heart, that I can't deny
While serving this punishment I don't find it funny that I let Funny lie
