The Bunny Cloud

promise of a thunderstorm
likely unkept
but the wind is blowing
the weather can be felt
living in Hawaii would drive me crazy
pleasant all the time

i recline in my zero gravity chair
partial-gravity more like it
i can still feel my body
i can still feel my mind
i want to dispose of both
work is too difficult
life's too expensive
love's too elusive

i should be planning my next block
creating weeks of lesson plans
planning a clever data wall display
innovating revolutionary behavior problem solutions
contacting parents
finishing my professional growth plan
checking my bank balance

but i can't
i won't

instead i'm looking at the bunny cloud
pondering whether it looks like a rabbit
or Marge SImpson
feeling the breeze on my face
sensing a touch of ozone in the air
feeling like i'm making better use of my time
than i have in a while
