Awww... this was heartbreaking to read...but I deeply understand it...
It is the reality of being single, though; sometimes being alone can be lonely....at least that's what my own experience has taught me...
You drive home that point with some distinctly penned poetic anguish....well done!

Documenting a feeling differs from suffering from it, for me.
I've spent the majority of my life alone. Fighting loneliness really ended when my perspective changed.
I used to feel isolated, but I've come to feel insulated.
I like myself. I enjoy my own company. I like my cooking. There were days in my past where everything I made was just a simple and quick bite.
This feast: red snapper, 2 kinds of crab cakes, langoustine shrimp, leeks, chicken fried rice, apricots, and sweet and sour sauce.
The way I look at it is someone just missed a wonderful meal and an evening snuggling on the couch in the sunset pouring through my windows.
I'm not lonely. I'm emotionally open. I'm not a victim; I'm a volunteer.

I am usually on that same page.. being aok being on my own.... yet I freely admit there are times of loneliness, too.
That seafood meal looks yummy, indeed.. 😋
I'll have to post the pictures of my blistered cherry tomato penne with fresh garlic, spinach and basil! It kinda makes it's own sauce and is close to restaurant quality...
I don't ever feel like a victim, either... only times where I'm wistful in my aloneness.
