Murder mysteries (22)

Murders are always different yet
      always the same
Using different implements
Ranging from guns to needles to axes
Different ways and means but the basics  pretty much
always the same, from sex, jealousy, money, greed
Even some Unknown dark corner in the person's very soul
rising to the surface, like the psychopath killing his first cat
Resulting in mayhem for the family and the entourage

Many times the scene can appear almost pure, as a Lady of Shalott look-alike
lying dead on an altar. the prick of that poisoned needle barely visible.
Yes, of course, many scenes are totally gruesome, blood and guts everywhere
bits of brains splashed on the walls, an arm here and a leg over there
Sometimes, as in the Colombo type stories we know who the killer is from the start.
Sometimes it is not so obvious and we have many choices.  From the ''obvious'' Butler
to that Débonnaire millionnaire loser to that jealous and quite hypocrit fellow.
The outcome is at times a total surprise as in most novels by Elizabeth George, novels always¸
extremely well-crafted, never gruesome - ok, these are crime novels, not horror films
where atrocious bugs devour human bodies.
Evidently, to read those is a choice.  Some prefer romance novels or biographies.
Realities differ from one world to the next
I suppose we are guided to our choices based on life experiences, dreams and expectations
Endlessly seeking answers, seeking to find what makes a person tick, seeking to find where they
             went wrong and asking ''why''?
So is life. A long road made of positive and negative.  Murderers are humans who crossed a terrible
line, a line which none of us want to cross. But what propelled a person to cross that line
while the other person kept the gun or the knife in his or her pocket and moved away to get
rid of his anger in another fashion?
