Ann Hathaway Lips

Without warning, the
crowded room placed
me at his side.

I wished that I could
slip away but
there was no path.
His well meaning
wife led introductions,
thinking I was a stranger
to them both.

He looked at my eyes and shook
my hand as his wife smiled with
confidence in her social graces.
As I looked away from his eyes,
I thought of the last time our hands had touched.

My eyes fell onto his wife’s
Ann Hathaway lips. I thought of
what our lips had shared, and
wondered if she noticed the
blushing of my cheeks.
