Hope For You and Me
Late at night
I wake up crying
Cause I dreamt of you
And it feels like I’m dying.
I rest my head back
On my pillow and
fall asleep
I dream of you again
I start to feel weak.
You walk towards me
All I do is stare at the ground
Then I hear your voice
God how I love that sound.
You rub your thumb across
my cheek
As a tear rolls down my face
I whisper “ I miss us, and
You I could never replace”.
You smile at me and say
“Soon babygirl just
give it time
Then I’ll be back and
Again you’ll be mine”.
When morning rolls around
I think about my dream
And then it filled my heart
With hope for you and me.

The first four paragraphs have me thinking the whole tale is of love out of reach. I applaud you in being able to keep this poem simple and uncluttered!
