A Nip and a Tuck

Our time is but a nut to crack
why choke on agonies of youth
To dwell in fashion's ugly tomb
denies the fabric of our truth

Lines that skulk like cellar rats
betray us with a smile
quaint martyrs of emotion
to disown the surgeon's guile

Who carves this stone for all to carry
and deems age is a sin
It matters not that youth can't tarry
when beauty lies within
