The perfect summer days
Playing in the morning shade
We got to stay up late
And chase each other in the rain
I knew we’d always would be ok
Eating blue popsicles in the driveway

We’d read and waste the whole afternoon
We didn’t have anything better to do

Spent the nights sitting on the steps
Looking up at the sunset
With our hats falling off our heads
We lived life without regrets
We’re the stars that you won’t forget
Even though we’ve never met

The days we never went to sleep
We chased the wind in the trees
Driving through a tunnel of leaves
With the same five songs on repeat
We were the cool kids with nowhere to be
Joking about the holes in the concrete

Now everything’s changed
But our love never went away
Together we’re still the same
They’re not just friends
They’re the family we made
And I wouldn’t trade them for anything
