Flower Highlights

Walking over chipped tiles everyday
Seeing different people
But they’re all the same
Empty small talk
I’ll forget your name
You’ll be gone as soon as you came
Don’t forget to have a good day
There’s no one that I really know
But the cold air leaking from the window

Waiting for the day to end
Because the best part doesn’t start
Until the open sign faces in

It doesn’t matter that my head’s tied in knots
There’s fairytale roses in the parking lot
With pink hearts on my black sleeves
I’m always surrounded by green leaves
So I’ll feel the blood
Running through my veins
And keep dancing on the rainbow stains

There’s fading disasters all day long
Every order coming out wrong
Hitting my head on the freezer door
I can’t do this anymore
But I can’t leave
It would ruin the family legacy
So I’ll carry the glass cups I want to throw
And I won’t break the window

I feel better when I’m outside
There’s hope in the slanted lines
I can breathe staring at the sky
I’m leaving this place behind
Until next time
