Strawberry Moon
Behold charmed acres that swarthily breathe
To blend their air with wanton lunar beams
For commixtion of an aether to wreathe
The topography of our midnight dreams.
Captive beneath Diana's capstone eye
Lay the glowing fog of immortal night;
The dewy child of a laggard sky
And a glorious goddess shining bright!
Torpid vapor! Lugubrious whiff!
Do you waft from Merlin's ancient hollows
To spread the power of Morphean glyph
To any slumbering soul that follows?
Or are you, oh creeping mist of prairie brush,
The huntress maiden's meteoric blush?
To blend their air with wanton lunar beams
For commixtion of an aether to wreathe
The topography of our midnight dreams.
Captive beneath Diana's capstone eye
Lay the glowing fog of immortal night;
The dewy child of a laggard sky
And a glorious goddess shining bright!
Torpid vapor! Lugubrious whiff!
Do you waft from Merlin's ancient hollows
To spread the power of Morphean glyph
To any slumbering soul that follows?
Or are you, oh creeping mist of prairie brush,
The huntress maiden's meteoric blush?
