You’re

You’re the pillow on which I rest my head,
You’re the most lavish of carpets on the ground.
When I’m tired you’re the sheet on which I spread,
And I wish so much you were still around.
You’re my only one true friend,
You’re the only love of my life.
I love you more even past the end,
You were the idyllic wife.
You’re the comfiest pair of trainers,
You’re the warmest pair of socks.
You’re the cosiest of all houses,
You’re the most secure of any locks.
You’re the best friend I could ever have wished for,
You’re the epitome of love.
You’re what made my life so much more,
You’re my blessing from above.
You’re the sofa I fall asleep on,
The duvet wrapped around my heart.
You’re the path I’d follow forever long,
And it kills me you had to depart.
You’re the only reason I keep on going,
You’re the only reason I stay strong.
You’re the blood that in my veins keeps flowing,
And I’ll see you soon when I too am gone.
