New Highs

Moon and Sun attracting
molecules of sea
pulling, then retracting
pulsing rhythmically

as the ocean's rising
as the ocean leaves
in between surprising
calm before it heaves

overpowering ocean tides
ebb again to flow
higher 'til they then subside -
they just need to go

surging through the narrows
lapping on the shore
glittering as sunlight
like rain from sky does pour

as the sea is rising
power flowing in
over much that lies in
where inundating

disappearing beaches
re-animating those
waiting tidal creatures
for new highs from past lows...
