The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Whilst my master sleeps his sleep of kings,
A moonless night cloaks spellbinding things.
Dawn will display death deceit and disaster,
For his apprentice shall become his master...

His locked Magic books were easy to unpick,
With beguiling night reads under candlestick.
Ungodly spells from times of ancient ages,
All stolen now from their well worn pages.

My dark deed done, the old fool lies slain,
An emerald fire spell to prolong his pain.
Rivals now my thorned wand will vanish,
Dismal death for many, others I'll banish.

The Gloaming grasps Mandrake and Mephisto,
An eternal madness for any trapped foe.
That twilight world betwixt life and death,
Both cursing my name till out of breath.

Kastor with Balin shall now freeze or burn,
Sentinel fire and ice guarding every turn.
Their wands impotently weak to prevent,
Damnation within my labyrinth of lament.

Ommin and Axar now abolished by my wand,
Joining with Morden to despair and despond.
In a mirror world reflecting on what did occur,
By Magics solitary master whose name is Vir!

But of mere flesh and blood I am made,
And a final outcome that can be swayed.
Of the inevitable, Magic shall set me free,
After finding the elusive spell of immortality.

Abundant time I possess for one so young,
Untold searches and reading to be done.
An eternal reward will one day await me,
But endless toils and labours I now see.

For menial work a minion without intent,
One uninspired so I may sleep content.
Any hint of treachery punished by fire,
A simpleton apprentice I shall acquire...

My alleged master sleeps his sleep of kings,
His 'simpleton' apprentice plans many things.
Balance and order to Magic I shall restore,
And free trapped brethren as 'twas before.

I have seen  all there is to possibly see,
All hidden knowledge now resides in me.
For nay wand I need to cast a spell,
As my words alone are what will tell.

'Twas centuries ago since my reputed demise,
Awoken by Magic to cast one final surprise.
This crimson dawn curses Vir a hex revelation,
For Magics corrupter, his deserved damnation.

I doth turn his face slowly to alabaster,
An effigy spell cast of a Grand Master.
Afore whitening eyes a puff of smoke unfurling,
Revealing Magics true identity, that of Merlin!
