i don't feel
like writing about all
the injustices
that are happening
all around the world
scare tactics with too
much truth
for weary hearts
i choose to look
more closely
at Nature's beauty
her stories are
deliberately calming
to watch lily's
rippling open like
earthen stars
walking on cool
soft moss that blooms
with so much delicateness
every blade of grass
so green and sweet
in morning dew
watching the rising sun
arc her way through
glistening leaves of trees
Queen Anne's Lace
unfurling in a delicate
ballet, dancing on the breeze
scent of rain
blowing in on the wind
so much promise
in every drop
simple pleasures that bring
joy to the soul
strengthen our resolve
no matter what occurs
Nature is holding us in her
loving arms
enlightening us
with her Earthly charms
breathe in her sweetness
feel her heartbeats
from the deepest roots
embody her beauty
resilience to all who try
to control her
she chose you to
be her voice
she has always chosen you
since the beginning of time

A beautiful tribute to nature and its beauty. I found myself agreeing to each stanza in solidarity. The world being completely off its axis the only proper refuge is nature and its unsullied embrace. Gorgeous piece and much needed for so many of us. H🌷

You have the right approach, Jemac, and beautifully put -- I'm getting bored with my own satirical writes on the dastardly deeds of 'the system'.
With a very dry season, and regular temps 30-40degC, my main concern is watering the plants to get them through the Summer. A daily round is very soothing - and I'm often accompanied by a very friendly Robin too -- I think birds find our place something of an oasis, given the bare land all around.
On our small-holding, we have planted a food-forest on the principle of 'syntropic agriculture' which is designed to minimise watering needs by creating an edible jungle, all tightly packed together, and allowing weeds to grow too sincce they add shade, and catch dew too, helping to keep the zone as moist as possible -- so far so good. In my mind connection with Nature is equivalent to a 'return to God' (ie: to universal principles that can't be trashed) -- and the more people who are aware of them the better. Cheers, Josh.

Your oasis sounds beautiful Josh. There is definitely a wonderful peace and connection when we create and can grow our own food, flowers etc. And use our resources responsibly. The added bonuses of the wildlife that entertains. I have been blessed with abundance from my garden this year. It has not been as dry for us which has also been a gift.
