Yes it is a real problem. For me I am still learning what love is. Hence the ability to sustain a toxic environment & relationship  
for so long many times over. one side of my brain views it as normal while the other side knows better. Still for me unconditional love  is something I always wanted so desperately so that I convince/ed myself that verbal hurt was part of the deal.

Please never associate any type of abuse with love, to argue with your significant other in a back and forth isn't abuse. You're two  different people with different opinions. We personally don't want a robot for a woman, you know your dinner is prepare, your bath is ready, and your slippers will be fetched. We like debating a thing and showing us your side, heck we may change our mind. You can't get this demanding that someone shut up, dominating what a person says or think, and getting violent. Totally not cool  

Yeah it’s pretty freaky I think every situation is different although the pretenses seem to be all the same if that makes any sense.
