Scrying Society

They flock to the blogs and websites,
They run to the fortune teller for insights,
Reading tarot cards, and palm lines,
Scrying the crystal ball, asking divines,
Asking about what's causing them so much strife,
Asking about their love life,
About where there's trouble, rife.
Asking for advice, online,
Reading the articles about that "one secret line"
That can get in someone's head,
And get them into their bed.
It's all about love,
And also so many confuse sex for love,
To them it's black and white, never very complex,
Just love based on sex,
It's their burdensome hex.
And they don't know why,
Everything falls apart, making them cry,
When they were only in each other's beds,
And they were only in each other's heads,
Not in each other's hearts,
Never connecting personality,
And ending in depressing banality,
So they go out and seek another,
Yet it's just to taste more sugar,
Not the umami of an interesting mind,
So it ends the same, bitter, and unkind,
Ruining their relationship,
For a secret, but also sad bed partnership.
