Promising Darkness
She sits there off site in the darkness reading us
There's almost a hunger to the need to read erotica
Not just any erotica, she needs hers covered in darkness
She needs to feel it's okay to leave the darkness and be herself
Lilith wonders can we deliver on everything that our poems promise
Can we deliver that type of torment that she craves
She has spent a great many nights lying awake in the darkness
She saw herself up in a great tree as a dragon slept beneath it
Was this the beast or a servant, how did she get up here
Did she dare to climb down, with a possibility of being detected
Here in the shadows, she could feel the heat as it increased
Here in the darkness she could comfort and soothe her needs
She could see the dragon slowly awaking as it stretched itself
Long and glistening in the darkness as it beckoned to her
The beast moved with a force, a confidence, that frightened her
But it also had a lure, it drew her to it with an incredible hunger
But could she endure the blaze and hopefully match it's intensity
Could he deliver on so many sleepless nights and finally satiate
Just how long could she remain treed and raining down for the beast
The dragon looked up into the tree, into the darkness, and it's face glisten
She was convinced that he could see her as her hands moved faster
Along with the roaring, she was convinced she could hear laughter
Along with the roaring, drums began beating a cadence with her hands
The underbrush of her mind showed quickening and violent movement
The dragon was continually slithering around in circles about the tree
Faster and faster, everything was moving in a cadence with the drums
Everything went blurry as her heart and mind chased the beat
Just as the dam broke, flooding everything, I IS ME stepped from the screen
