Vascular Refuse

"Pack your heart and leave,"

The BPA sources arrhythmia,
the carrier bag I snagged shopping.

The arteries laser-welt to the plastic face
suffocate before the words of mouth.

Reaching out for a body
I tucked it from.

Having latched to another who pried off the parasite.

Having gained 40 pounds on return,
unpackaging and swallowing,
it falls like a stone.

Ah, vomit.
The acid reflux alerts the throat at attempt to gulp,
"Refuse."
Not reintegrating to the chest.
Blah.

"Pack your heart and leave,"
because the cavity doesn't reclaim
what was willfully given.
There.
Many carry the thing around.
